Five Element Acupuncture
"Treating the Roots as well as the Branches"
For thousands of years, the ancient Chinese have recognized that the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water exist in everything... not only in nature but within ourselves.  They did not see the elements as physical manifestations alone, but as a flow of life-giving energy throughout creation.

The restoration of balance in the flow of this energy within a person can help them overcome disease, even that of an apparently physical nature.

Five Element Acupuncture seeks to discover the root imbalance within a person, looking deeply at all causes of distress- not only physical, but mental and spiritual as well. Correcting the inner imbalance that leads to illness and treating a person on all three levels in accordance with the natural laws leads to a restoration of balance and harmony.

Alleviation of symptoms without the correction of this inner disharmony may be of only temporary benefit. However, when the root cause is addressed through Classical Five Element Acupuncture, one experiences more lasting results, an improvement in health and in the quality of life.

In this manner, a person is not only able to experience freedom from the symptoms they may have been presenting, but also achieves a greater sense of vitality, overall well-being, calm and clarity of mind, and an openness of heart.

Five Element Acupuncture is a system of medicine that can help to heal at this deep level.

Acupuncture in Cambridge

The five elements that the Chinese have recognized thousands of years ago are: Fire, Water, Earth, Wood, and Metal. These elements not only exist within us, but all throughout nature. They deemed this the life-giving energy in creation.

This energy that gives life is the same energy that we need to help overcome sickness, disease, and other ailments whether physical in nature or brought about through our environment, experiences, or choices. Throughout history, acupuncture has been practiced longer than any other treatment.

The aim of what we would be doing is to discover what imbalances one may have and determine the root of the cause. This can sometimes be physical, mental, and/or spiritual. In order to restore the balance and harmony in your life, it is critical to have all three levels balanced.

One in three people throughout the world use acupuncture as their main source for health care. Like all acupuncture, treatment is relatively low and its application is noninvasive. It is a common form of complementary health care in the US. Acupuncture can be used as a preventative medicine, to strengthen the immune system, and to treat a wide variety of conditions including:

  • Acute or Chronic Conditions
  • Trauma or Accident Recovery
  • Psychological, Emotional Disorders
  • Muscular, Circulatory, Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary, Menstrual, and Nervous System Disorders
  • Addictions
  • Stress
  • Allergies
  • Headaches
  • Sleeping disorders
  • Symptoms Difficult to Categorize
